About Career Trail Guide

I’m Stephanie Kempa, founder of Career Trail Guide.  I’m an experienced HR leader, with 17 years of HR experience at leading global companies.  Currently I lead a team of Strategic Workforce Planners, Compensation professionals and an Operations team at a company that’s in the top 10 of the Fortune 500.  Prior to my current role, I led the  company’s Staffing organization globally, evolving from a U.S., to Americas, to Global position.  In addition to my expertise in Staffing Leadership, I have worked in senior HR Business Partner roles, and as an HR Generalist, an Organization Development specialist, and a Labor Relations representative/ supervisor.  I have a Master’s Degree in HR from a top program (MLIR from Michigan State University) and a SPHR certification.

This is my personal blog, representing my own views.   You can also follow me on Twitter at @StephKinHR.  I’m a working mom, technophile, telecommuter, and advocate for new ways of working.  Why a blog?  Because I’ve been fortunate enough to get a lot of good advice throughout my career, and it’s time to give back.
